Although she wouldn’t be born until three and half decades later, Alexandra “Alex” Scott is a prime example of those now famous proclamations.
Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer, right before her first birthday. One out of 100,000 children are diagnosed with this disorder each year. By the age of four she along with her parents Liz and Jay had raised $2,000 to help other children just like her. The youngster did it by selling lemonade in the front yard of her Pennsylvania home.
