MANILA, Philippines - Several years ago, my mother gave me a gift - it was a rosary in a small box with a tape (yes, that's how long ago it was!) The recording of the rosary, a bit like a prayer partner. It was presented very professionally, with background music and a small companion booklet with prayers in case you want to play along. Someone laughed when I told them and said he cheated because a person should be able to say the rosary on their own, without being prompted.I disagree, I think most people need a bit of a kickstart to get things done, and rather than not doing stuff at all important, it helps to have something helps you to do so. With audio to guide you through the rosary for me is like sitting in church and have someone in front of the micro guiding the congregation through the rosary or other prayers. Many of my personal training clients or people who attend my classes say they know they need to work on their own, but can not manage it unless they come to one session.Furthermore, in my opinion, if a friend of prayer is what helps you pray, then by all means!

I have been asked by a friend to make her a rosary necklace. I am not familiar with rosaries but am trying to learn. I know there are 10 beads and then a 'father' bead that is supposed to be larger, but do the ten beads have to all be the same?
the ten beads do need to be a marked size different from the larger bead.
OR
at least create some sort of more pronounced space between the ten small and the larger bead.
The reason for this is not religious in nature,
but
for assistance in the meditating.
I just found one, or maybe it is a chaplet. I know the mysteries that go along with the normal rosary but I was wondering what prayers etc. go along with this particular type of rosary or chaplet.
I believe the chaplet you are referring to is the Franciscan Crown. You would pray it much as you would the Rosary but with the Mysteries as follows.
