Located on the main street past the Academy Road is a fabulous little shop called Glitz. Here you can find works of craft such as pottery and glassware, but what interests me particularly is the wide selection of jewelry to the store created by Canadian designers.

In the drawings of road Winnipeggers Cathy Carlson is among the lines carried at Glitz Design. I like the way pieces of Carlson have some sort of sophisticated, romantic look to them - think freshwater pearls and muted patina mixed with rosettes and precious stones.

Another line of local designers that caught my eye was Rocks rights.Chunky and funky is how I would describe this collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings - each incorporating vibrant stones such as turquoise and jade.
